Legal notice

This policy explains what personal information Quantum Apothecary collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. The store is operated by Tonic Thought Studios For questions or requests, email tonicthoughtstudios@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Order details. Your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered.
- Payment information. Handled by Shopify Payments and the card networks. We never see or store your full card number. What reaches us is the last four digits, the card type, and whether the charge succeeded.
- Communications. Emails you send us, and any photos you attach to a damage claim.
- Site activity. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and what you put in your cart. This is collected by the store platform through cookies and similar technology.
- Marketing. Your email address, only if you deliberately sign up.
You do not need an account to buy. Guest checkout is available and is the default.
Why we collect it
To take payment, to get your order manufactured and shipped, to email you confirmations and tracking, to answer your questions, to handle damage and loss claims, to keep proper business and tax records, to prevent fraud, and — only with your consent — to send you occasional emails about new work.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
Who it is shared with
Only the parties needed to complete your order:
- Shopify — hosts the store, processes checkout through Shopify Payments, and stores the order records.
- Printful, and for one product line Yoycol — our production partners. They receive your name, shipping address, contact email, and the items ordered, because they manufacture the item and put it in the mail.
- Shipping carriers — USPS, DHL, and similar, who receive the address on the label.
- Payment processors and card networks — who handle the transaction itself.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect against fraud.
Cookies
The store uses cookies. Some are strictly necessary — they keep your cart intact and let checkout work at all, and the store cannot function without them. Others measure traffic so we can see which pages people actually use.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones will break checkout. Where local law requires a consent banner, you can set your preferences there.
How long we keep it
Order records stay in our Shopify admin while the store operates, because we need them for accounting, tax, and any claim that surfaces later. Emails are kept as long as they are useful for support. Marketing sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Site analytics data is retained by the platform on its own schedule.
You can ask us to delete your personal details. We may keep a minimal transaction record where tax or accounting law requires it.
Where your data goes
We are based in the United States and our platform and production partners process data in the United States and elsewhere. If you order from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
Your rights
Whoever and wherever you are, you can email us and ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop sending marketing. Unsubscribe links are in every marketing email.
If you are in the EU or the UK: you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent — marketing, non-essential cookies — you can withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. We process your data to perform the contract of sale, to meet legal obligations, and, for marketing, on the basis of your consent.
If you are in California: you have the right to know what personal information we collect and who we disclose it to, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Email tonicthoughtstudios@gmail.com to make any of these requests. We will respond within the time the applicable law allows, and we may need to confirm your identity — usually by asking you to write from the email address on the order — before acting on a request.
Security
Payments run over an encrypted connection and are handled by Shopify Payments, which is subject to the card industry's security standards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
This store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new date at the top.
